GRANTS PDF Print E-mail

The Trinity Trust makes grants exclusively for the benefit of the residents of Trinity County California.

Encouraging Collaboration
A request for museum training led to a Community Response Grant for a collaborative training ultimately benefiting four local museums.  A class teaching state-of-the-art artifact conservation and management skills was attended by volunteers from the Jake Jackson Museum in Weaverville, the Weaverville Volunteer Fire Department Museum, the Scott Museum in Trinity Center and the Willow-Creek China Flat Museum.

Keeping Kids Safe
Trinity County is blessed with beautiful streams and lakes affording many water sport opportunities.  It also means children need to be water safe.  The Trinity Trust’s 2007 Summer Youth Mini-Grant Program included ten awards to programs containing a component of swimming lessons/water safety.

Hayfork Heritage Days –
reenactment of Hayfork’s History

Hayfork Heritage Days, held in May at Hayfork Community
Park, began as a senior project for  Logan S. Moore of Hayfork. With help from a Community Response Grant from The Trinity Trust,  historians and Nor-Rel-Muk tribal members reenacted Hayfork’s early days including blacksmithing, gold mining, logging, tanning, candle making and working with textiles.

"This was an opportunity for me to give back to my community.  I have discovered how all our lives intertwine, circle around and join again.”
- Logan S. Moore

Summer Youth Mini Grants
The Trinity Trust is committed to supporting children and youth and values programs that offer opportunities for them to learn, play and develop in a safe, productive setting while school is not in session.  We recognize that organizations offering summer programs for children and youth are integral to providing those opportunities.

Small grants are awarded to agencies to expand and enrich summer recreation programs serving Trinity County children operating between June and September.  Grants are normally made for expenses such as sports and recreational equipment, arts and craft supplies, special events and field trips and camperships for low-income participants.  The application deadline is April 1.  Grant awards are announced by May 31.

Weaverville Summer Day Camp

In 2005, the Trinity County Resource Conservation District received funding for youth camp counselors for the Weaverville Summer Day Camp.

“The Camp provided a much-needed community service for working parents, for the students who participated in a safe and wholesome educational environment and for the teenage counselors who developed valuable job skills while staffing the camp.”
- Noreen Doyas, Grants Coordinator
